To cellpic, or NOT to cellpic - Is that the true question? |
Technology is allowing us to broaden our horizons, to get more people in touch with one another, making our world smaller, giving us opportunities we never had before. With the addition of a small camera lens, it has given most of us the opportunity to play photographer. Okay, so some are still stuck looking at themselves - #selfie - others are taking some serious and noteworthy photo's out there. And I, being an avid amateur picture taker, would love to jump on the bandwagon (no photographer here yet!). So I need all the help I can get!
Photographer Mark Matthews of Sydney, Australia spotted the above plaque on a sidewalk: "If your camera also sends text messages, that will explain why your photos are rubbish." |
Or, are you of the believe that "true photography" is an art form not to be messed with, utilising specialised tools - some even say the "point and shoot camera's" doesn't truly belong here. Are you asking us to look up the definition of photography and the history of photography, or does our images not fall within a specific category? Say "street photography?"
Well, I am sorry to say - no matter the medium, and perhaps thanks to social media - any and all kind or photography should be accepted. Maybe we just need to be inspired some more...
We all can improve our skills. I need it. Any others I should be focussing on?
An older article. Perhaps we can start our own list.
This got me started with THIS blog.
Okay - we're not all there yet.
So let's all join in and show that any and all phone photography is here to stay. Make use of the HASHTAG #PHODROID and get the word out! By the way: I am prepared to share some of your work on this blog. Also: Why not join us per PhoDroid Google+ Community?
